I found a link for borescopes.
I want one for looking inside of wall, through small holes.
I searched for various combinations of "arthroscope" and "construction" at Yahoo. Turns out "arthroscope" is strictly a medical term, but after a while I found this link. We'll see what I can learn from here.

QVC
An ad at the game site (last post) offered a contest with Smart Cars for prizes. Turns out it was QVC. Anyway, I went ahead and registered.
Then I visited QVC. It's sort of cheap stuff, seems like. Still, the site is fun. Give it a visit. In the Jewelry section, there was a link to this blog, that turned out to be more than a little bit interesting: http://community.qvc.com/blog/Peytons-Gems-Knowledge/3000000053.

Getting Something Done
I want to do posts that actually contribute to readers getting something done.
For example: You read the post, you follow the directions, and the result is some kind of production.
I'm pretty fuzzy on how. Something came to mind ... let's see ...
Anything you do on the computer is information. Ok, let's say there's a place on the web that collects information, and creates something useful with it. I could direct you to that place, and you could contribute information to it.
I suppose I could post instructions for something you do in another medium. I could post instructions for some kind of crafts project, and then you send your work somewhere. That's sort of interesting.

I decided to continue my search for on line games. I had to try several sites to find one that does it correctly, meaning, you don't need to download anything to play. Here's my result:
Features of an Ideal Home
It is heated with wood. Wood fireplaces.
They are precise, simple, modular, built by stacking the prefabricated, interlocking cement rings. They operate on the "masonry furnace" principle: the heat from a fast, hot fire made with kindling/brush is stored in the mass of the chimney, by passing the flames over masonry baffles. The warm mass of the chimney then warms the room for hours.
These fireplaces are retrofitted into existing homes, inserted into walls and through ceilings and roofs, using a process of ultra-precision structural analysis and cutting. The existing architecture is always respected.
The bath is warmed by one of these fireplaces. It can be warmed as desired, even to sauna type temperatures. A wood fired Japanese bath is ideal, in my opinion. The toilet is separate. Actually, it's a composter.

Seriously
I just think if I could give people on line access to a simple programming language for graphics, they would have a lot of fun with it.
What's the best way for me to build this and run it as a business?
These are my notes for what to write to some business development people.

Early Morning
I dreamt Kat and I were hiking in some very pretty mountains. Then I woke up out of breath, and lay there gasping for a while, the way I've been doing, mornings. I could hear my heart beating, and it sounded steady, which was amazing, the way I felt. Since I was wide awake, I decided to get up and do a post. I logged on and looked at some of the stuff on mytoons. There are games on there. Some of them are sort of fun, I guess.

Updating in the Evening, Saturday, December 6, 2008
I failed to post anything for several days. I felt like my posts weren't producing results. I was starting to wonder if I could actually do anything productive with this, even though in some ways it's the best thing I've ever done. At least when I started this blog I was determined to persist, no matter what. So, today, I'm taking a new approach. At least I'm posting stuff. In some ways, the most important thing is to be concise, so people can read it.
prosperity thought
It comes to me that we will almost surely prosper if we do really wonderful things for others. Thinking about how to do that should be good for our prosperity.
There's a physical foundation for prosperity, the arena of production, such as farming, building, and so on. For ballance, we can give some of our attention to that arena. What could we do to do really wonderful things for people in that arena?
Then there's an arena of feelings and thoughts ... communication, maybe. Basically, the ultimate good is happiness. Happiness seems to come partly from things outside of the physical arena. And, even if, ultimately, that's not true, it seems that ideas are what gives shape to things in the physical arena, so they are of the utmost value. For ballance, then, we could give attention to the world of ideas, too, and think about what we can do in that arena that will benefit people in wonderful ways.

On Line Giving
I want to create a better tool for on line giving.
Its features:
A blogger can insert links for giving on the blog ... with perfect ease. (Etc., depending on format.)
A giver can fund an account, from which they can give any time just by clicking a giving link on someone's blog or page.
It works extremely well for making small gifts, even very small gifts, even extremely small gifts.
You click one of these links, and it asks you for your id and password.
How do we ensure a link is legitimate? How do we verify that to someone clicking a link?

Food Policy
When more people get their food from ideal sources, the market will produce more ideal sources.
In order to encourage ideal methods of food production, we can encourage people to get their food from ideal sources.
What can we do to encourage people to get their food from ideal sources?
What can we do to get our food from ideal sources?
What is an ideal food source?
This post inspired by fundraising call from Food First.

Jason's List
If you surf on over here and look for the entry date November 5, 2008, it's titled The Future of Startups. This really gets to the heart of the matter, for me. (It could get lost in the flow of topics, here, but this blog is the front page for a blog titled Computing Today, which is pretty much about how to start a technology company.)
I must add: if you follow the link for November 5 at the top of the above referenced article, it takes you to a page at Mahalo. If I understand right, Jason runs that company, in addition to others. Well, it's pretty intriguing.
Jason's blog, referenced above, is also very interesting. It's loaded with gadgets, which are things I've been hearing about, but haven't been completely clear on, as far as how they're used, or how they work. True, I've sort of been getting the idea. Here, now, you can really see how they work. Look at all the stuff in the sidebar. It's all created with these external services that do the work for the blogger. Here, an assortment of them is put together in a pretty elegant way. (Interestingly, the blog itself is done in the totally bare bones style. You've got to love it.)
More:
What I've been talking about, to the point where I've started to look silly ("talk is cheap," a friend told me the other day) is putting a lot of diverse information together in one place, where the reader sees it all at the same time. It looks like Mahalo does that, and that's what it does. Nice work. Jason's use of those gadgets does it, too.

Tesla Motors
Thank you to Huffington Post for this exposeE on more egregious editorializing at NYT ... and an exciting report on Tesla, to boot.
morning, Monday
At some point I also (see previous post) added an essay about my idea for a new kind of storage center.
I'm not really comfortable with those notes, although I do think it's a good idea. I just think people will treat it like a fantasy, and not serious. I thought about somehow storing it to think it over, but then I decided to post it anyway.
Over the long weekend, I didn't spend much time on this. I felt like it was better to spend the time with my Kat. I did add those two essays, breaking off from other things when I thought about the ideas. I started really looking forward to getting back to this work. This morning, though, it took me a long time to start. I wasn't sure where to start. That's pretty typical.
I didn't go back to sleep, though, which is what I would have done, until recently. In fact, I was pretty surprised to feel myself waking up fully, at a certain point, during breakfast, and having a sense that I was going to start something, if not blogging, right away. This note is about how I'm working through some inertia.
What I did, though, was settle in with my book. The sun warmed the bedroom, gradually, as the morning wore on, and I lay on the carpet, leaning up on the futons, and read from where I'd stopped last night, which was about two thirds of the way through. I just let the quiet, the proximity of the garden, the warmth of my place and the greatness of the story carry me away, and I didn't start working on this until noon, after I had read the whole rest of it.
